Rex G. (born Derex D. Hale II) is a Chicago alternative hip-hop artist from Englewood. He began his music journey while in his high school band and took an interest in being an alternative hip-hop artist soon after college in 2017. 

Since then Rex G. has released several songs and his 2020 EP "Hold Me Down". Rex G. got his start performing in 2019 at Chicago open mics and events hosted by himself and other local artists. Rex G. has built a rapport across Chicago with the local open mic scene and will soon be performing at concerts in a city near you.
